What Better Place Than This, What Better Time Than Now: Awakening Your Potential in the Present

Introduction: The Influencer Dilemma and the Pursuit of “Success”

Last week, During a class discussion about current trends, a fascinating debate arose: who are influencers really today? And even more, would we like to be one of them? At first, the answers leaned towards the conventional: “someone with a lot of followers,” “a full-time content creator,” “a person who bills for every post.” The image of the influencer is often built on metrics, engagement strategies, and an apparent slavery to constant production to “make an impact and generate income.”

But as I listened, a thought began to form in my mind: What if we are deceiving ourselves, chasing a “success” that, paradoxically, moves us away from what we truly love? What if, in the eagerness to find a “market” and be a “constructed influencer,” we neglect the genuine passion that brought us here?

At that moment, I came to a conclusion that, although simple, I feel changes everything: Maybe we are all already influencers. Maybe an influencer isn’t “made” in the sense of an external, forced construction, but rather “born” from an inner truth.

The Birth of the Genuine Influencer: When Passion Awakens Your Potential

This idea of “being born” is not a call to passivity or waiting for a divine gift. It is a call to the most authentic and profound action: to awaken what you truly love, what ignites you, and to do it so much, and with such passion, that you specialize.

Think about it: Isn’t that the essence of true impact? To take what you know to the next level, not out of an obligation to produce, but from the uncontrollable urge to improve, to explore, to innovate. And then, or even during this organic process, to show the world that it is indeed possible to do it. Possible to do it better, differently, with your own unique style.

It’s the person who, obsessed with a type of music, experiments until they find a sound no one else has. It’s the strategist who doesn’t follow the rules but reinterprets them with a holistic and human vision. It’s the artist who doesn’t paint on commission, but because their soul needs to express itself on canvas, and that authenticity radiates.

These are the true “influencers”: those who don’t seek followers, but whose passion and mastery generate such a strong resonance that the channels for expressing it come naturally, or they create them organically, because they cannot contain who they are.

The Trap of Waiting and Survival: When We Live by Inertia

This contrast leads us to a current reality that I consider crucial. On one hand, our evolution and development have strongly focused on improvement and practicality, to the point of automation and the possibility of ordering or doing almost anything just by speaking. The tools, we could say, already exist. We just need to know how to make the most of them, how to use them to amplify.

But on the other hand, our human growth and “human quality” have largely lost their direction. We have been educated in a systematic mode of compliance and adaptation, accustomed to receiving orders, following instructions, and making our lives a role of survival. The mindset of “the more you work, the more you earn” or the idea that “doing little and earning a lot” is the reflection of success, has chained us to an economy where, sometimes, it is considered that without work, we are nothing.

And within the trend of changes, we see how a time will come when many activities of this style will gradually, or perhaps faster than we anticipate, be replaced by automations. This will force us, as humanity, to evaluate what our true role as a species is. What makes us human if machines can “do” so much?

Awakening in the Present: Your Extraordinary Opportunity

It is at this crossroads that I feel a strong and urgent opportunity. A possibility to begin to be independent and self-sufficient, not only for our own income or survival but for our own self-improvement. It is to know that we have capabilities beyond the ordinary and that we can live a life with more meaning and extraordinarily if we only awaken and make use of the tools that, instead of replacing us, we can use to our advantage.

This is the call of the “here and now.” We don’t need to wait for the world to change, for conditions to be perfect, or for an AI to give us permission. The best place to start is here, where you stand. The best time is now, with what you already have.

It’s time to create a consciousness of being better by giving our best. By finding that purpose, by shifting the mindset from compliance to creation, we can develop something valuable for others and for ourselves, achieving fulfillment and giving meaning to an opportunity where everything evolves. It’s knowing that something that is coming can only be better if we prepare and take advantage of it to make it a holistic improvement, not a partial one.

Your Small Seed of Action TODAY:

The key is not to wait to be the perfect “influencer” or to have all the answers. The key is to start awakening that potential today.

  1. Reflect in Silence: Dedicate 5 minutes to the question: “What is it that I am so passionate about that I could do it just for the pleasure of taking it to the next level, without expecting anything in return?”
  2. Act with Passion: Take a small step in that direction. Is it writing a sentence? A doodle in a notebook? A note on your guitar? Do something, however tiny, that ignites that spark.
  3. Share from Authenticity: If you dare, share that small creation or reflection. Not to “influence,” but to express your truth.

Conclusion: Harvesting Your Extraordinary Present

The path to a more meaningful life and genuine impact doesn’t require a “grand moment” in the future. It requires a series of “nows” lived with intention, with the conviction that the best place to start being extraordinary is where you are, and the best time is this very instant.

What small action will you take TODAY to plant the seed of your potential and allow your true “influencer” to be born?
